ID Engine: automatic data extraction from Indian AADHAAR ID cards in low lights
ID Engine demonstrates excellent performance in automatic detection of ID type, recognition and data extraction in extremely low light conditions such as dusk, taxi or dark room by a smartphone or any camera-equipped device. The system is also resistant to significant tilt angles, skewing and distortion of the processed image, as well as to natural vibrations of the document and of the device during recognition.
In this video, we show how an application with integrated ID scan and recognition technology powered by GreenOCR ® system recognizes and extracts data from different types of AADHAAR ID cards. The only thing the user has to do is to present the document to the camera, without creating special conditions for shooting, installing additional light or careful aiming. The system automatically determines the type of the recognized AADHAAR ID and extracts data such as holder’s name, gender, birth date, mobile number, unique 12-digit ID number (UID) and Virtual ID 16-digit number (VID). The data processing takes less than 1 second and then the extracted data is automatically filled in any file, form or a worksheet.
Aadhaar (English: foundation or base) is a 12-digit unique identity number that can be obtained voluntarily by residents or passport holders of India, based on their biometric and demographic data.
